Description of Defect/Non-Compliance
Misalignment in Steering Cross-Shaft Bearing Mounting Holes may Lead to Added Stress on the Right-
Hand Stand-Up (RHSU) Configuration of the Steering Cross Shaft on the Peterbilt Model 520 and
Kenworth L770.
Safety Risk
Failure in the RHSU Steering Cross Shaft Would Result in a Loss of Steering Control on the
Right Side. Loss of Steering Control may Increase the Risk of an Accident.
Cause
Drilling Robot for the Doghouse was Unable to Consistently Locate Passthrough Holes for
Steering Cross-Shaft.

Description of Remedy
Affected vehicle owners will be notified and dealers will Inspect and Repair the trucks free of charge. Owners who incurred costs to obtain a remedy for the problem addressed by the recall in advance of receiving notification may seek reimbursement through the process outlined in the general reimbursement plan on file.
