But when purchasing a new motor, how do you know what to look for?

The size of a blower-motor housing isn’t necessarily a good indicator of the capability of the motor. Many motors are manufactured with a less expensive sleeve construction rather than a more durable bearing construction. Brush material, configuration, length and volume also play significant roles the life of a motor life, which can range from less than 3,000 hours to more than 15,000.

They do not broadcast an electrical signal that will interfere with AM or FM radio reception. Lesser quality motors often produce radio frequencies that make it impossible to listen to some radio frequencies.
• Power consumption matched to the OEM electrical system: Truck manufacturers determine the opening and charging voltage. Not all trucks are electronically equal. Blower motors that are designed for a specific electrical system perform better and last longer.
