SmartWay Transport Partnership
Kenworth Truck Company's environmental-friendly and "green" commitment to producing aerodynamic, fuel-efficient trucks has helped reduce emissions, fuel usage and customer operating costs since it introduced the industry's first truly aerodynamic truck, the T600A, in 1985. Building on this aerodynamic heritage, Kenworth's latest models – the new T660 and T2000 – were recently acknowledged as SmartWayTM eligible trucks by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Kenworth Hybrid Truck
Kenworth's goal for its new medium duty hybrid is to enhance fuel economy by up to 30% in start-and-stop applications, such as pickup and delivery and utility trucks.
Above 30 mph, the Kenworth hybrid operates like a standard diesel vehicle with all power coming from the engine during steady driving conditions. Below 30 mph, it uses a combination of diesel and electricity with the system automatically switching between the two modes of operation.

Kenworth Driver Information Center
The Kenworth Driver Information Center integrates system information into one display located within the primary instrument cluster. The driver receives instant access to current trip data, including miles per gallon, engine and idle hours, idle percentage and optimum rpm range for the engine. The driver can use this information to help optimize fuel usage and reduce wear and tear on the engine and transmission.
