Kenworth T370 Hybrid Utility Truck To Participate in Ride and Drive Sessions at ICUEE Show

KIRKLAND, Wash., October 5, 2009 – Kenworth Truck Company will make its first appearance at the International Construction & Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE) October 6-8 at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky. The trade show focuses on the electric, general construction, public works, landscaping, among other segments.


A Kenworth T370 diesel-electric hybrid truck, equipped with a Terex utility body, will be available for test drives as part of the ICUEE Ride and Drive and Equipment Demo. Drive times are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 6-7; and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. October 8. A Kenworth T370 with Altec utility body, and Kenworth T270 truck with Summit service body will be displayed in Kenworth’s booth (No. L353) during the exposition.


Kenworth offers Kenworth T270 Class 6 and T370 Class 7 diesel-electric hybrid trucks for utility, pickup and delivery, and service applications. Kenworth hybrid tractors, available up to 55,000-lb GCW, are for local haul applications, including beverage, general freight, and grocery distribution. Purchasers of Kenworth hybrid trucks may qualify for a federal tax credit ranging from $6,000 to $12,000.


The new Kenworth T470 model will be on public display for the first time. The T470, equipped with a Braden winch, will be shown in the PACCAR Winch Division booth (No. L347), next to the Kenworth booth.

The Kenworth T470 offers Kenworth durability and performance for winch, snowplow, dump, mixer, refuse, and other heavy front-axle vocational and municipal applications. The T470 is powered by a 9-liter Cummins ISL engine with 345 hp and 1,150 lb-ft of torque. Other features include a range of manual and automatic transmissions; and 12,000 to 22,000 lb. rated front axles, 21,000 to 26,000 lb. rated single rear axles, and 40,000 to 46,000 lb. rated tandem rear axles.
