Kenworth Introduces Additional Sleeper Option For Kenworth C500 Vocational Model

KIRKLAND, Wash, July 30, 2009 – Kenworth Truck Company has added its 38-inch AeroCab® FlatTop sleeper as an option for the Kenworth C500 vocational model.
The tough, durable Kenworth C500 is designed to handle heavy loads over punishing terrain and is ideal for the severest applications, including heavy haul, oilfield services, coal mining and construction. Kenworth’s 38-inch AeroCab FlatTop sleeper enhances the C500, providing additional space for customers that may need to log time in the sleeper berth while waiting on job sites but cannot sacrifice the length. The compact sleeper allows the C500 to remain highly maneuverable with more driver comfort and versatility than a day cab configuration.
The compact 38-inch AeroCab sleeper offers plenty of headroom, a liftable bunk with a 24-inch by 78-inch tilt-up mattress, over-and-under bunk storage, a full headliner, insulated rubber floor mats, vented access doors, swivel reading light, lockable luggage compartments and a separate sleeper control console. The sleeper is available with Kenworth’s Splendor interior.
The Kenworth C500 also is available with a standard day cab, 42-inch FlatTop sleeper, and Kenworth Extended Day Cab. The spacious Kenworth Extended Day Cab enhances driver comfort with an additional 6 inches of length and 5 inches of cab height compared to Kenworth’s traditional day cab. The Extended Day Cab also offers 2 more inches behind the wheel, additional leg room, up to 21 degrees of recline in the driver’s seat, and 2 extra cubic feet of storage behind the driver’s seat.
