Adds New Rear Axle Ratings, World-Class Door Pad

LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 22, 2006 – Kenworth Truck Company today announced the introduction of a new T300 Class 6 25,000-pound GVWR vehicle equipped with air brakes for pickup and delivery and various other applications. The announcement was made at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

“We’re excited to offer the popular Kenworth T300, featuring outstanding quality, performance and durability, in an additional Class 6 weight rating to pickup and delivery and other customers in the growing Class 6 air brake market,” said Gary Moore, Kenworth assistant general manager for marketing and sales.

“Customers in the Class 6 and 7 business have long appreciated the Kenworth T300 for helping them to achieve success,” Moore said. “We anticipate that Class 6 customers will welcome this new 8,000 lb. front and 17,000 lb. rear axle combination for T300s with air brakes, especially as freight becomes more regionalized and companies increasingly use non-CDL product alternatives to staff their driver needs.”

Customer appreciation and dealer support for the T300 contributed to Kenworth’s reception of the 2005 J.D. Power and Associates awards for “Highest in Customer Satisfaction in the Conventional Medium Duty Truck and Medium Duty Dealer Service Segments.”*

Kenworth’s T300 Class 6 model is available with Cummins ISB and ISC engines and Caterpillar C7 engine. In conjunction with air brakes, Kenworth is offering a low profile chassis with 19.5-inch wheels and tires. Also available are 22.5-inch wheels and tires.

Kenworth also announced new standard features and options for T300 Class 6 and 7 customers. The Kenworth T300 is now standard with the same, world-class door pads currently used in Kenworth’s Class 8 models. Also standard are power door locks, passenger-side electric windows (which are optional on the driver’s side), heating and air conditioning, a 10-5/8-inch by 5/16-inch frame rail, and glove box with locking door. New options also include remote keyless entry and a low voltage disconnect system that continually monitors battery voltage.

The Kenworth T300 is available in Class 6 and Class 7 configurations as a straight truck or tractor and is popular with food and beverage distributors, fire departments, towing and recovery operators, propane and fuel fleets, general construction and landscape firms, and dry, refrigerated and side-curtain van operations. Kenworth continues to also provide hydraulic brakes on its T300 Class 6 and 7 vehicles.

Kenworth is displaying the new T300 Class 6 model in its booth (#3410) at The Mid-America Trucking Show.
