“Kenworth Truck Company is extremely pleased to receive this national recognition for the Kenworth-Renton plant from ASSEMBLY Magazine,” said Tony McQuary, Kenworth’s assistant general manager for operations. “Quality, pride and technology go into each Kenworth truck that rolls down the Renton assembly line, and our vehicles are known throughout the industry for their reliability, durability, dependability and high resale value.”

The award was open to all manufacturers that assemble products in the United States and nominations were received from a diverse group of manufacturers. Nominees were evaluated by a group of outside experts and by ASSEMBLY Magazine’s editorial staff.

“We wanted to showcase manufacturers that ‘build it in the USA,’” noted Austin Weber, senior editor for ASSEMBLY Magazine. “Our goal was to identify a state-of-the-art facility that has applied world-class processes to reduce production cost, increase productivity, shorten time to market, and improve product quality. We found the Kenworth-Renton plant to be an outstanding example of achievement in these areas.”

ASSEMBLY Magazine’s November issue will feature a cover story on Kenworth’s award-winning Renton plant, which has produced over 85,000 trucks since it was opened in 1993. The plant makes Kenworth’s T600, T800, W900, C500 and 953 models and maintains ISO 9001:2000 quality certification.
